Info

I was born on December 31, 1959 in Chapel Hill, NC, and I grew up in that area. I went to Northwood High School near Pittsboro, NC. I graduated from UNC-CH in 1982 with a B.S. in Math/Computer Science.

I've spent 20 years in the computer industry, working on Unix systems, developing graphics software, and developing home and gardening software for Windows. I worked for Record Bar, Tektronix, Mentor Graphics, MIPS, Solbourne, Sony, Books That Work, and Sierra On-line.

In 2000, I enjoyed what I called "My Endless Saturday" - an 11-month sabbatical. I was fortunate enough to be able to move to a nice house in the Cascades of Washington state, where I live next to a river. I have been a whitewater inflatable kayaker for 11 years, and this turns out to be perfect for me - I can run the river just like some people take daily walks.

I am currently working at Wild Tangent in the Media Technology Group, working on digital audio products.

On the net since 1979, I have also been known as unc!dce, tektronix!tekecs!dce, dce@mips.com, dce@solbourne.com, and dce@smsc.sony.com, dce@btw.com, david.elliott@sierra.com, davide@wildtangent.com, and my family and some friends call me Tiger (for everyone else, it's David, and not Dave).

Otherwise, I am not the David Elliott you know. If he is on the net, he's one of the other 20 or so David Elliotts, and he would be glad to hear from you.

Here are a couple more pictures. The first is a picture of me in my office with all of my little friends, and the second is a picture of my truck (so, for all of you "men and boys/size of their toys" people - I have all sizes of toys - so there!).
