Anything that can be produced can be produced wrong, and in most collecting hobbies involving manufacturing on a large scale, production errors are a specialty. Hot Wheels collecting is no exception. Collectors looking for something to make their collection unique seek out errors.
This guide discusses the various types of production line errors, with pictures from my collection. It is separated into several sections, which you can reach via the links below. Your comments are welcome. Send them to dce@dcell.com. In addition, I moderate the Hot Wheels Errors mailing list, which you can subscribe to by going here.

I would like to thank all of the people who have given, traded, and sold me error cars, such as Serg Palanov, David Lopez, Randy Gard, Fred Bradford, Don Boomershine, Scott Moen, and others. This guide is dedicated to you folks.
This guide is far from complete. On the day I finished the first version, I came across a dozen items that I hadn't photographed yet. Also, the photos I have taken are inconsistently sized and they're all crooked, so I plan to take another shot at all of them as time permits.
I'm interested in hearing about errors you find. I'm particularly interested in hearing about errors that you have in your collection that are also in mine.
I am happy to buy or trade for error items, but I must warn you that I will probably not be able to give you the price that you could get from eBay.
